About

I’m Steven Chau, owner of Know Your Worth Financial and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.

Know Your Worth Financial was started to help immigrants and young minority professionals achieve financial independence in an increasingly complex financial environment. We help clients achieve this by simplifying personal finance and by offering a safe space for people to talk openly about money and get the tools necessary to build a thriving financial future.

Growing up in Arizona as a second-generation Chinese-American, outside of being told just to “save more and spend less”, conversations around money didn’t get much more complex. It wasn’t until I started my career in finance that I learned how underprepared my generation was when it came to personal finance.

During my decade in the financial services industry, I observed a woeful lack of attention paid towards millennials and minority communities. As I progressed in my career, traditionally firm prerequisites like net worth and investable made it more and more difficult to help the people I was closest to.

I started Know Your Worth Financial to move away from that traditional structure and work with more people like you.

I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about me.

I look forward to meeting you and learning about your journey!

They want to make the best use of their financial resources to have the life they want - today and tomorrow. If this sounds like you, here’s how we can help: BUSINESS OWNERS share similar concerns: *How much do I set aside for taxes? *How much should I pay myself? *My cash flow is uneven, how do I make my business and personal life feel stable? *How do I effectively use my business profits for a rewarding life / business scenario? *Should I delegate by hiring others? *Which operating costs make sense to keep – and which to cut? *What kind of retirement accounts should I have? *What benefits should I offer my employees? *And how do all my business decisions impact my tax planning and financial goals? We work together to answer your questions and set you up for success. HNW INDIVIDUALS share the complex concerns of making the right moves with the resources they have: *What is a smart distribution strategy? *How much can I take a year? *Do my investments align with my goals? *Am I saving as much in taxes as I can? *Do I have the right insurance? ProPath Financial

At Pro Path Financial, we live by one mantra: Goals, Plan, Assets – in that order. We begin by obtaining a complete understanding of your most cherished goals and move on through the process once we have a strong comprehension of what you want to achieve. We then build a plan that achieves those goals, which includes an estimate of how much capital you will need. Lastly, we manage and accumulate assets to support the plan that is intended to achieve your goals. Read Thatcher's blog here: https://www.propathfinancial.com/blog

Reach One Teach One Financial

My philosophy is to help as many as possible (Reach) while making those I'm helping smarter and savvier with their finances (Teach), all with an eternal/kingdom focus. I spent the first 25 years of my career focused on building some of the world's most innovative technologies. It was thrilling. It was fun. I was also a client of a financial advisor during this time. Looking back, I can't believe I stayed with him for 20+ years. I was young, naive, and didn't know what I didn't know. In 2019, I arrived at a fork in the road. I reached the halftime of my career. In a decision based on faith, I pivoted and stepped through the proverbial open door to financial advising. That door led to another, which led to another. This is how I began my financial planning journey. Now, I'm setting out to be the advisor I wish I had. My mission is to be a biblically-centered advisor who cares for, gets to know, and proactively guides my clients to become financially free and to do it with an eternal stewardship mindset, sending treasures forward to where it matters. WealthLogic

Uncommon for most financial professionals, my background spans psychology, teaching, puzzles, and gymnastics. All of which has helped me become the woman and financial advisor I am today. Having started life in the state of Washington, I moved to Arizona for college. After several years, I found my understanding of individual behavior was well suited to helping people learn about finances. Once I saw first-hand how life changing the results of good financial planning can be for a person, it was like I was struck by lightning. There could be nothing else I would be satisfied doing professionally – being a financial advisor was my calling. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, my passion is helping couples and career-focused individuals who are building wealth and maintaining careers while balancing multiple goals to work toward financial success. I’m a strong advocate of empowering people about money; my mission is to help you overcome the unique challenges you may face to help you successfully achieve financial security and peace of mind so you can focus on what’s important to you. I received my undergraduate degree in Finance from Arizona State University W.P. Carey School of Business. Originally from Shoreline Washington, I’ve called the Valley of the Sun home since 2001.

Montebello Avenue

I started in the advice business in 2012 as an intern at First Allied Securities. Lucky for me, I got to see the inside of a lot of classic wealth management firms - how the sausage was made. Fast forward to 2016, I've worked a few years in the industry, but I'm not happy with my trajectory; I want to write my own story. A couple of industry guys create a platform called XY Planning Network, seemingly tailor-made for me & my dreams. I want to serve the next generation of clients in a fair & transparent way, and I'd like to do it on my own terms. XYPN's little push, their "Yes, you can do this" at the September 2016 conference in San Diego, was the catalyst for launching my firm, Montebello Avenue Limited Company, which went live in February 2017. Today, my firm serves 50+ clients locally & throughout the country. I couldn't be more proud of our clientele or more hopeful about the future of the firm. Luminvest Wealth Management LLC

About Trent White, CFP®, JD, LLM A little background on my journey to becoming a financial advisor. From a young age, I developed a profound interest in managing finances. I started investing in stocks when I was 12 years old using the modest income I earned from delivering newspapers. After I delivered those papers I often read the business, sports, and humor sections, which fueled my growing curiosity about investing. My father and grandfather played instrumental roles in expanding my knowledge of stocks, bonds, ETFs, options, and more. My late mother also played a pivotal role, instilling in me invaluable money skills and principles like saving for college and embracing charitable giving. Even before I could drive, she inspired me to launch my first business—lawn aeration! This fueled my entrepreneurial spirit and taught me the value of the dollar. I've always been fascinated by the power of compounding growth and how money can do good in the world. It's not just about making life more enjoyable by saving for fantastic trips (I love to travel!), but about using money as a force for positive change. That's why, while studying Financial Economics in college, I made up my mind to become a financial planner and help others manage their money wisely. During and after my formal education, I seized valuable opportunities to expand my knowledge and expertise. I actively sought out practical experiences, both as a volunteer and as a paid income tax preparer. Additionally, I delved into life insurance, initially as a captive agent and later as an independent one. These experiences provided valuable insights into different aspects of financial planning.. Eager to broaden my knowledge further, I pursued a law degree at BYU, passed the bar exam, and obtained esteemed credentials such as the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP) designation and other securities licenses. I later completed a post-law degree from Georgetown, a Tax LL.M. (Master of Laws in Taxation) with a Certificate in Estate Planning. For more than a decade now, I've been working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, helping them navigate investments and plan for their financial future. Most recently, I managed a book exceeding $1 billion in assets under management for approximately 150 ultra-high-net-worth households that were part of Vanguard’s Personal Advisor Services. Guided by a wealth of experience and knowledge, I am eager to utilize my skills to help you achieve your goals!
