About

I specialize in helping software developers and data engineers at tech companies navigate the complexity of equity compensation (RSUs, ESPPs, ISOs) and maximize their wealth through strategic tax planning. If you're vesting six figures in company stock annually and wondering how to optimize the tax hit, when to sell, and how to diversify without leaving money on the table—I can help.

TYPICAL CLIENT:

  • $200K-500K household income
  • $100K-300K+ vesting in RSUs annually
  • Works at companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Meta, Apple, Salesforce, Adobe, Intel, etc.
  • Dealing with: Tax complexity, concentration risk, when-to-sell decisions, Mega Backdoor Roth eligibility, AMT on ISOs

MY EXPERTISE:

  • Equity compensation optimization (RSUs, ESPPs, ISOs)
  • Strategic tax planning for high earners
  • Diversification strategies & concentration risk management
  • Tech industry benefits analysis & optimization

I translate complex financial strategies into clear action plans—because you'd rather spend your time coding than Googling "what happens if I exercise my ISOs."

While my expertise is rooted in the tech community, I'm always happy to have a conversation with high-earning individuals and families ($200K+ household income) who value comprehensive financial planning and strategic tax optimization. If you're dealing with complex financial situations—regardless of industry—let's talk.

Townsend Financial

Townsend Financial’s typical clients are successful, high income/high net worth individuals with a complex financial life. They don’t have the time to manage their finances. They want to make the best use of their financial resources to have the life they want - today and tomorrow. If this sounds like you, here’s how we can help: BUSINESS OWNERS share similar concerns: *How much do I set aside for taxes? *How much should I pay myself? *My cash flow is uneven, how do I make my business and personal life feel stable? *How do I effectively use my business profits for a rewarding life / business scenario? *Should I delegate by hiring others? *Which operating costs make sense to keep – and which to cut? *What kind of retirement accounts should I have? *What benefits should I offer my employees? *And how do all my business decisions impact my tax planning and financial goals? We work together to answer your questions and set you up for success. HNW INDIVIDUALS share the complex concerns of making the right moves with the resources they have: *What is a smart distribution strategy? *How much can I take a year? *Do my investments align with my goals? *Am I saving as much in taxes as I can? *Do I have the right insurance? We'll create a sustainable plan for true financial freedom. BIO: I’m physically located in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona, but I work virtually with clients all around the country. Beyond my fondness of numbers, I love yoga, cooking, wine, travel, fast cars and a never-ending plate of peanut butter pancakes (I literally eat them every single night!) Heather graduated from Arizona State University, W.P. Carey School of Business, with a BS in Accountancy. She then worked in the San Francisco and New York offices at Ernst & Young, advising high net-worth individuals and Fortune 500 companies. ProPath Financial

At Pro Path Financial, we live by one mantra: Goals, Plan, Assets – in that order. We begin by obtaining a complete understanding of your most cherished goals and move on through the process once we have a strong comprehension of what you want to achieve. We then build a plan that achieves those goals, which includes an estimate of how much capital you will need. Lastly, we manage and accumulate assets to support the plan that is intended to achieve your goals. Read Thatcher's blog here: https://www.propathfinancial.com/blog

CRB Strategic Services LLC

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Grew up camping, riding bikes, swimming, making friends and appreciating the beauty of the desert. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors of Science in International Hospitality Management. This curriculum sparked my interest in finance. After graduation, I worked for the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale as an Operations Manager and then I progressed to the Accounting Team. Early in my career, each evening, I found myself reading about investments and markets. I lived through the Global Financial Crisis. This event shaped my thinking significantly. The experience of taking risk, enduring loss of capital and recovering, motivated me through a journey of learning. Along the way I was influenced by several voices (Jim Rickards, Raoul Pal, Dr. Chris Martenson, Jack Bogle, Jim Bianco, Ray Dalio and many more). I progressed in my career and moved to Vanguard, where I served for nearly 9 years. The majority of that time I served clients as a dedicated financial advisor in the Personal Advisor Service. Clients trusted Vanguard and I, in no small part because of the sensibility and legacy of it’s Founder, Jack Bogle. During my work at Vanguard I told Vanguard’s Story and espoused their beliefs about the future. In mid 2022 I resigned from Vanguard, on good terms, to found my own enterprise: CRB Strategic Services. Now, I will tell my own story. A narrative that depicts wealth even more broadly, in all of its forms, including Living, Knowledge, Material and Emotional Capital. Through study, I have developed a view that the next 20 years are unlikely to look and feel as the last 20 years have. Thereby, clients will need advice that many other firms, for various reasons, refuse to provide. I believe that most of us already sense that our world and society are changing and so I believe that CRB Strategic Services is in the right place at the right time to deliver clients to the most resilient and prosperous financial and life outcomes possible. I’m looking forward to hearing from you. Please click on of the Contact buttons and engage with me today.

Montebello Avenue

I started in the advice business in 2012 as an intern at First Allied Securities. Lucky for me, I got to see the inside of a lot of classic wealth management firms - how the sausage was made. Fast forward to 2016, I've worked a few years in the industry, but I'm not happy with my trajectory; I want to write my own story. A couple of industry guys create a platform called XY Planning Network, seemingly tailor-made for me & my dreams. I want to serve the next generation of clients in a fair & transparent way, and I'd like to do it on my own terms. XYPN's little push, their "Yes, you can do this" at the September 2016 conference in San Diego, was the catalyst for launching my firm, Montebello Avenue Limited Company, which went live in February 2017. Today, my firm serves 50+ clients locally & throughout the country. I couldn't be more proud of our clientele or more hopeful about the future of the firm.
