I know we’re saving enough for retirement in 401k’s, but my wife and I still have serious conversations about how to use her company stock to help live the life we want. Our issues require significant financial planning that firms focused on AUM can't help with. In my free time, I coach my three kids sports teams, play softball, golf, ski in Incline Village, and work on the NYTimes Crossword puzzle with my wife, Jessica. I have heard these statements from many lawyers I’ve met throughout my wife’s time in law school and her legal career. As a CPA, CFP, and someone who has worked in financial planning, I have seen young people who are overwhelmed about managing their personal finances. I have also seen people near retirement who unfortunately didn’t make good financial decisions and now have to modify their future lifestyles because of their financial situations. I hate seeing people not achieve everything they want in life because they can’t afford their dream lifestyle. So I set out to change that. My mission is to help young lawyers establish a strong financial foundation early in their careers so they can capitalize on future opportunities instead of trying to fix financial mistakes. So I created the Developing Financial Process. My process identifies what is most important to you, analyzes your current financial situation, builds a comprehensive financial plan, implements the plan, adapts the plan as your life changes on an ongoing basis, and most importantly educates and empowers you throughout the entire process. My process helps you pay off your student loans completely, invest effectively, save and spend intentionally, and achieve your financial goals and ambitions. I believe that everyone should live their dream life without worrying about their finances. I live what I preach and when I’m not working, I am out living. I love to travel and have visited many states and countries. My family and I go camping, spend time at the beach, and visit friends and family as often as possible. I am the Founder of CareGen Wealth Management and a Wealth Advisor providing fee-only financial planning and wealth management services with customized solutions for my clients, with a primary focus on women. Prior to starting my own firm, I was a Vice President with Goldman Sachs, Personal Financial Management and have worked in the financial services industry since 2006 following an earlier career working in the aerospace and information systems industries. I studied Financial Planning at UC Berkeley, have an MBA from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Economics from UC Santa Barbara. I live in the San Francisco, California area with my husband and when I'm not working with clients, I love to spend time in Brooklyn, Phoenix, and Los Angeles with my three grown children. After working as a financial advisor for more than 15 years, I obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation in 2008. I received my M.B.A. in Financial Planning from California Lutheran University in 2016. Some of our clients have been with us for 20+ years and for that I am very grateful. I enjoy being a blessing to our clients by helping them make the right financial decisions. It’s wonderful to see clients understand the truth about their finances and some of the nuances of the financial advisory world. I love playing golf with my son Luke and other friends when there is some healthy competition going on! I love to cook after work and enjoy sharing a great meal with my family and discussing how our days went and encouraging one another. I also enjoy working out with my family and seeing family and friends achieve things that are hard to do.

I have been practicing financial planning since 2008 and came to this profession out of a desire to help others and work in a meaningful profession where I can impact lives positively. A graduate of Smith College, I worked in consulting and marketing earlier in my career and came to financial planning later. My broad experience and liberal arts education have been helpful in understanding a range of different clients in various life situations. Having lived in France, India and the UK, I have international skills to bring to those with cross border situations. I founded my own firm in 2015 and merged with Tamarind Financial Planning, in October of 2022. George Kinder's Life Planning training allowed me to delve deeper into the part of client's lives that focuses on what they want to get out of their time on this earth so we can direct their finances towards that. I love the outdoors, yoga, Pilates, reading, creative writing and meditation. Married to an academic working in Climate Finance means at times spending significant time in other countries and travelling. Our two children are now pursuing their studies so we are fresh empty nesters!
