About

Spencer Financial Planning, LLC provides fee-only, fiduciary financial planning and investment management to individual and high‑net‑worth clients. The firm’s services range from multi‑meeting Comprehensive Financial Planning and discretionary Investment Management to limited engagements like a Financial Check‑Up and brief Jump Start Calls.

The firm employs both active (fundamental) and passive strategies, sizing portfolios to clients’ time horizons, tax situations, and risk tolerance, and may recommend alternative investments for qualified clients. It offers discretionary trading, can manage held‑away accounts, monitors rebalancing and tax efficiency, and sometimes works with a third‑party sub‑adviser under a collaborative arrangement to deliver portfolio services.

Notable differences from many peers include explicit planning for business‑related matters — such as business ownership considerations, employee benefits optimization, and rollover analyses — as part of its financial planning work. The firm also uses less common service features: a one‑time Pay‑It‑Forward Financial Check‑Up offered to long‑term clients, a client‑priced Jump Start Call option, and standing letters of authorization for transfers on a subset of client households.

Spencer Financial Planning, LLC

Hi, I’m Keith. So, a bit about me. I love this stuff. The whole financial planning thing. After getting a degree in music (yeah, music…), I worked at a leading investment management firm in Los Angeles for 18 years. But I had this itch all along that I wanted to open my own financial planning firm at some point. I finally decided to pull the trigger to open my own firm in 2019, and here I am. I’m now based in Spokane, Washington, but I work with clients virtually, so I can help people who live anywhere. I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to finances. I have so much fun with this topic and am honored to be able to help others with it. Money can be such a tough subject, so I love coming alongside people to help them navigate the questions they have, as well as the questions they don’t know they should have. I started Spencer Financial Planning to empower people through financial health. We’re a fee-only, fiduciary firm. We look out for our clients’ best interests and help them make fantastic money decisions. We serve clients primarily in California and Spokane, Washington, specializing in helping Capital Group associates and retirees. We help you: - Make smart financial decisions - Cultivate good habits with your money - Navigate the complexities of your finances On a personal level, a few things I love: - My wife and kids, foster care, adoption - Financial planning, reading - The Salvation Army, church - Music, playing bass guitar - Watching baseball, playing fantasy baseball, ping-pong - Eating (sometimes too much), using bullet points - Disneyland, Hawaii, the beach, travel
