About

Rude Wealth Advisory is a small, team-based registered investment adviser managing roughly $54 million on behalf of about 156 clients, serving individuals (both non-high-net-worth and high-net-worth), families, trusts, estates, charitable organizations, and business entities. The firm provides investment management together with a range of financial planning options (ongoing, hourly, and project-based), retirement plan consulting, tax return preparation, and accounting and record-keeping services.

The firm builds individualized investment plans using a mix of fundamental and technical analysis, principles of modern portfolio theory, and both passive and active strategies, with account supervision guided by each client’s stated objectives and tax considerations. It works with clients through regular reviews and implements client-specific investment policy statements to set asset allocation targets and any client-imposed restrictions.

Compared with many peer team firms, Rude Wealth Advisory emphasizes client education and employer-focused programming: it offers workplace financial wellness services that include educational sessions, drop-in coaching, and ongoing financial literacy content — an offering that is less common among teams of this size. The firm also provides in-house tax return preparation and business accounting setup/record-keeping, combining investment, planning, tax, and administrative services under one advisory roof.

Education & Designations I have a bit of a healthy obsession with learning. I am a proud graduate of Olney Central College, where I now get the pleasure of serving on the Foundation Board. I received my B.S. in Finance from Eastern Illinois University and my Masters in Personal Financial Planning from CFFP. Along the way, I’ve earned a few other designations. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional as well as an Enrolled Agent. Outside of my work as an advisor, I teach courses in business and finance at Vincennes University. Work History While in college I worked for a couple of banks, but my first position with true financial planning experience was with a firm in Urbana, IL in 2010. I consider myself blessed to have avoided the insurance sales or door knocking gigs so many “advisors” start out with. At Franklin Wealth Advisors, I was able to learn from an expert with several decades of experience and an undeniable passion for the work. At the end of 2014, I left FWA to move back home to join a local bank. From the end of 2014 to Spring 2021 I provided financial planning services, managed the investment assets for the Trust department, and lead the IL Wealth Management team. I worked with families in all stages of life to develop and implement plans to achieve their goals. At the end of 2020, I decided it was time to move on and begin plans for a new journey – starting my own firm. My goal for Rude Wealth Advisory is to narrow my focus to a smaller group of clients, allowing me to provide a superior level of personalized service. Personal / Family My husband, Bill, and I have been together since 2010 and married since 2013. We are both originally from Richland County, so the decision to move “home” in 2014 was mutual. We have two kids, Olivia & Henry, and are grateful to have both sets of grandparents along with siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. living close by. As a family, we love being active outside and traveling to new places. My “Why” Our work plays a critical role in our identities, whether we realize it or not. It brings to light our strengths and weaknesses and provides affirmation of our life’s purpose. We all have unlimited potential to positively impact others, and I consider myself blessed to have found the connection between providing value to others and meaning to myself in such a rewarding field. I’ve always had a passion for numbers and business. When inside the wrapper of helping families reach their goals, this work is even more fulfilling.
