Martha's Vineyard Investment Advisors provides financial planning, investment management and wealth management to individuals (including high-net-worth clients), trusts, estates, foundations, endowments, corporations, pension and profit-sharing plans, and banking and trust companies. Services include discretionary portfolio management, consulting and advice on held-away products such as variable annuities and employer-sponsored retirement plans.

The firm builds customized portfolios guided by Modern Portfolio Theory, combining mutual funds, ETFs, individual equities and fixed income with both proprietary strategies and selected independent managers to access traditional and alternative exposures (including real estate and private equity). MVIA monitors accounts on an ongoing basis, implements periodic rebalancing and tailors allocations to each client’s risk tolerance, time horizon and liquidity needs.

MVIA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank and both recommends and, in some cases, uses its parent for banking, custody and sub-advisory services—an ownership and client‑service relationship that is uncommon among peer team firms. That affiliation results in operational ties (shared personnel, custody of certain assets at the bank, the ability to recommend borrowing or banking services, and affiliated broker‑dealer relationships) which the firm discloses and treats as potential conflicts of interest.
