Forest Asset Management manages approximately $231 million on a discretionary basis for about 100 clients, primarily providing investment management, financial planning, and retirement plan advisory services to individuals, trusts, charities, small businesses and participant-directed retirement plans. The firm also offers project-based consulting and may design written investment policy statements and transition plans for new clients.

The firm follows an evidence‑based, Modern Portfolio Theory approach that emphasizes diversified, buy‑and‑hold portfolios constructed mainly with mutual funds and ETFs (notably Dimensional Fund Advisors, Vanguard and BlackRock) and uses tools such as Monte Carlo analysis to set asset allocation and risk profiles. Portfolios are monitored and rebalanced periodically, and FAM will delegate discrete services—such as fixed income account management—to independent managers when appropriate.

Compared with many peers, FAM routinely uses third‑party sub‑advisers and model portfolios through Focus Partners Advisor Solutions for both back‑office services and discretionary sub‑advisory mandates, and in limited cases recommends separately managed AQR “Flex” long/short strategies (with client agreements and separate program fees). The firm also may employ less liquid vehicles such as interval funds for specific portfolio objectives, offers a third‑party cash aggregation service (Flourish Cash), and maintains a formal succession agreement with a larger service provider—arrangements that are less common among similarly sized advisers.
