About

Everlong Financial is an independent, state-registered advisory firm that serves individual clients, including high-net-worth individuals, with investment management and both comprehensive and hourly financial planning services. Its planning services address retirement, tax, estate, business, insurance, education, and employee-benefit optimization and can be delivered as ongoing engagements or limited-scope projects with coordination with outside professionals as needed.

The firm’s investment approach is grounded in Modern Portfolio Theory and implemented primarily through structured, passive model portfolios made up of no-load mutual funds and ETFs, guided by an Investment Policy Statement and periodic rebalancing; tax-loss harvesting is used when appropriate. It typically manages accounts on a discretionary basis, will build customized portfolios to accommodate client constraints, and provides advisory services for non-discretionary employer or plan accounts as identified in agreements.

Everlong operates as a solo advisor with roughly $69 million in assets across a small client base, resulting in a relatively high assets-per-client profile and centralized handling of supervision and compliance. Distinctive operational choices include a policy not to aggregate or “block” trades for multiple clients, reliance on custodial statements and an online portal rather than firm-generated written performance reports, and a practice of crediting comprehensive planning fees against investment management fees.

Everlong Financial

I began my financial career working as a bank teller during spring breaks and summers while at college. Always strong with numbers, this role introduced me to the importance of developing trusting relationships and delivering superior client service. I have put these skills to work for both institutional and private offices, advising clients and constructing investment portfolios for the past 10 years. In 2014, I formed Everlong Financial in Austin, Texas. My goal was to create a financial planning practice that integrates my investment experience with technology of today. I strongly believes that everyone can benefit from having a formal financial plan in place. As a young professional, I know this is especially true for those just growing into their careers and wealth. In 2009, I married my wife Elizabeth in the mountain town of Asheville, North Carolina. Together with our three children, we enjoy walking the trail around Lady Bird Lake. I am an avid runner and I challenge myself to run 100 miles in the heat of July each year. Living in the "Live Music Capital of the World," I enjoy live music and searching for vinyl LPs to broaden my music collection. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Psychology. I obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in June 2009.
