About

CareGen Wealth Management is a California-registered advisory firm that provides investment management and comprehensive financial planning to individual clients — including high-net-worth households — as well as charitable organizations, corporations, and small businesses. The firm offers portfolio management (discretionary and non-discretionary), coordination with outside managers when appropriate, and ongoing planning services tailored to each client’s objectives and risk tolerance.

The firm’s investment approach emphasizes Modern Portfolio Theory and primarily passive investment management, building diversified portfolios with index mutual funds and ETFs and monitoring them on an ongoing basis. Financial planning is offered on an ongoing, hourly, or project basis and expressly incorporates behavioral-finance coaching, retirement and estate planning, college savings, tax considerations, and employer benefit and equity-compensation analysis.

Compared with many peers, CareGen makes a point of providing educational seminars and speaking engagements to organizations and the public — generally on a pro-bono, non‑sales basis — which the firm notes are purely informational and not personalized advice. The adviser also highlights capabilities for hands‑on implementation and coordination (including referrals to third‑party managers) and targeted planning for situations such as equity-compensation decisions and divorce-related financial issues.

CareGen Wealth Management

I am the Founder of CareGen Wealth Management and a Wealth Advisor providing fee-only financial planning and wealth management services with customized solutions for my clients, with a primary focus on women. My clients may be divorced, retireed, widowed, or recent inheritors. They're looking for someone to literally and/or figuratively sit right next to them, hip to hip, as they make financial decisions that impact their lives and the lives of those who are important to them. My ultimate goal is to empower my clients to believe in themselves, make the most of their resources, make smart decisions, and forge better financial outcomes. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® professional, and hold the Accredited Behavioral Finance Professional(℠) credential. Prior to starting my own firm, I was a Vice President with Goldman Sachs, Personal Financial Management and have worked in the financial services industry since 2006 following an earlier career working in the aerospace and information systems industries. I studied Financial Planning at UC Berkeley, have an MBA from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Economics from UC Santa Barbara. I live in the San Francisco, California area with my husband and when I'm not working with clients, I love to spend time in Brooklyn, Phoenix, and Los Angeles with my three grown children. (If you're curious, ask me about how this relates to my "Family Mission Statement".) I also enjoy spending time in Park City, Utah downhill skiing, hiking, or seeing films at the annual Sundance Film Festival.
