About

Cairn Financial Advisors, LLC is a state‑registered independent investment adviser managing roughly $17.6 million for about 26 clients, serving individuals (including high‑net‑worth clients), as well as corporations and other businesses. The firm provides discretionary portfolio management, comprehensive financial planning (one‑time, follow‑up, and hourly engagements), and coordinates access to third‑party sub‑advisers.

The firm’s investment process is individualized and guided by Modern Portfolio Theory, with portfolios constructed to match client goals, risk tolerance and tax considerations; implementation may be through direct management or by recommending sub‑advisers. CFA discloses use of sub‑advisers including Geo Wealth and Betterment, monitors those managers’ holdings and strategies, accepts client‑imposed restrictions, and does not impose an account minimum.

Distinctive features include the principal’s CFP and CDFA credentials and operation of a separate divorce‑financial consulting business, indicating a focused capability in divorce financial planning that is less common among peers. The firm does not accept third‑party compensation, does not vote client proxies (clients retain voting responsibility), and operates with a small client base supported by custodial relationships that provide institutional custody and soft‑dollar services.
