About

Advisory Services Network (ASN) serves individuals and families — including trusts, estates and retirement accounts — as well as corporations, charitable organizations and employer retirement plans. Through a network of roughly 208 independent Investment Adviser Representatives serving about 11,603 clients, ASN provides portfolio management, financial planning, investment and retirement‑plan consulting, third‑party manager selection, and a wrap‑fee program while overseeing about $8.6 billion in client assets.

ASN’s IARs tailor strategies across stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, options and alternative investments and may manage accounts on either a discretionary or non‑discretionary basis or recommend unaffiliated third‑party managers. Advice and implementation options include traditional asset‑based fee programs, a wrap program, and a monthly subscription advice service; IARs use fundamental and technical analysis, asset allocation, rebalancing and third‑party manager due diligence to align portfolios with client objectives.

Noteworthy features of ASN’s model include its independent, branded IAR network and the prevalence of dual registrations and ancillary roles among its advisers — many IARs also serve as registered representatives, insurance agents, and some practice as attorneys or accountants or are associated with futures introducing brokers — which creates multiple implementation pathways and attendant conflicts that ASN discloses. The brochure also highlights a concentrated discretionary footprint (approximately $8.5 billion discretionary vs. $106 million non‑discretionary), revenue‑sharing arrangements with recommended third‑party managers, and occasional recruiter referral payments, all of which the firm identifies and addresses in its disclosures.
