Combined with the firm’s use of derivatives, leverage, soft-dollar research arrangements and tax-driven allocation practices between onshore and offshore vehicles, these features point to trading and operational arrangements—including commodity exposure and affiliate-driven structuring—that are less common among managers focused solely on traditional equity strategies.
