Hi, I'm Daniel Patterson! I'm a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and the founder of Sweetgrass Financial Planning. I began SFP to provide quality, independent advice for people like you: hardworking professionals in the wealth accumulation phase of life. I’m excited to utilize my experience and passion for personal financial planning to help bring clarity to your current financial picture and get you on your way toward accomplishing your goals! Besides my faith and my family, nothing brings me more pleasure than helping clients set and achieve their financial goals. Whether it be something stressful, such as how to get out from under the weight of your student loan debt, or something exciting, such as what to do with the extra money that you’re receiving from a new promotion at work, my goal is to provide you with tailor-made advice that is both relevant and applicable within a fee-only, fiduciary framework. Our planning process begins by getting to know you and what makes you tick. Throughout our first couple of meetings, I will work with you to help clarify your top financial goals and your values as it relates to money. We will work together to get a clear snapshot of your current financial picture and develop actionable steps that will put you on the path towards accomplishing your goals. I believe that the financial planning process is not a one-time event, but rather is something that requires on-going, regular attention. Thus, our relationship with most clients does not end at plan delivery, but rather we continue to meet regularly to ensure that your plan is evolving and changing as your financial situation and goals evolve and change. When not working, you will probably find me exploring the beaches, waterways, and parks of the greater Charleston, SC area with my wife Jenny, and our two boys, Judah and Levi. I’m also an avid sports fan (football, soccer, basketball, you name it) with a knack for craft beer that loves spending Saturdays in the fall cheering on my favorite team, the Clemson Tigers. Colin Moynahan has a strong passion for personal finance that has manifested in over a decade’s worth of relevant experience before founding Twenty Fifty Capital Financial Advisors in 2018. Colin began his career with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in their Financial Advisor training program. In 2015, he went on to work for fintech start-up, Snapcap.com, as their fourth full-time employee. Over the next two and a half years, the business grew from four employees to twenty-two, earned a spot on the INC 500 list as the 14th fastest growing finance company in the United States, the 2nd fastest growing company in South Carolina, and the 2017 Start-up of the Year by the South Carolina Business Journal. These achievements led to an acquisition by LendingTree.com in fall 2017. He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Bloomberg, Marketwatch, Nerdwallet, CNBC, Business Insider, Fox News, and CNN Business.   Colin has a BBA in Finance with a minor in Economics from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He also attended Wake Forest University’s graduate program in Personal Financial Planning, and spent time studying abroad within one of Oxford University’s premiere colleges, University College. During this time, he was fortunate to have internships with JPMorgan Chase, RBS, Baldwin & Associates, and ImageARB.   Born and raised on the east coast, Colin has always had a strong love for the water which is why you will often find him on the boat or fly fishing outside of work. He is an avid traveler and has been to over 25 countries as well as the majority of the continental United States.

I created Flowrate Financial to provide access to unbiased financial information, while also eliminating the limitations and feel of a typical main street, big-box brokerage firm. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner and fiduciary, I have a legal and ethical obligation to put your interests first, and I take this responsibility very seriously. If a conflict of interest happens to exist, it will be disclosed and addressed in favor of the client. While my passion today is providing financial planning for the HVAC Community, my journey began in 2008 upon my introduction to the world of commercial HVAC systems after earning my BS in Mechanical Engineering. Simply put, I want to help people achieve greater peace of mind when it comes to their money. For many families, taxes might be the largest expense during retirement. Every investment and distribution decision has a material impact on the amount of taxes owed (or saved) during your lifetime, as well as for future generations. And while it's very important that we do pay our fair share owed to the IRS, we don't necessarily need to leave a tip.

I am a fee-only flat-fee Certified Financial Planner® and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor®. I'm also working toward my Retirement Income Certified Planner® designation. My passion and specialty are income planning for retirement, whether at a "normal" retirement age or for an early retirement. Our services include comprehensive financial planning, which feeds into income planning and tax-smart distributions. We help our clients maximize the lifetime enjoyment of their money so they don't run out in retirement but also don't leave more than desired in their estate. After graduating from the University of Dayton, Michael was like many other millennials (easy targets!); unsure of his career path and a lack of confidence in managing his own finances. Early in his career while working for one of the largest investment management firms in the country he attended the National Personal Financial Planner(NAPFA) conference. After hearing a few of the speakers(s/o Michael Kitces!), and meeting some of the attendees he knew financial planning was the field he wanted to pursue. He always had a passion for educating himself and others, and helping people along their financial journey quickly became his goal. Michael earned the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner™) designation in 2018 to learn fundamentals of comprehensive financial planning. The education covers Investments, Estate Planning, Insurance, Education Planning, Retirement Planning, and Cash Flow Management. In early 2020, Michael created Black Dog Financial Planning to help professionals and families in their 30s and 40s with their finances. After working at a few firms, he realized the majority of investment advisors primarily focus on pre-retirees and retirees. Meanwhile his peer group was significantly under-served. He launched the firm to make high quality financial advice more affordable and accessible for his peer group, and to help individuals and families live great lives by making smarter financial decisions. When Michael isn’t helping his clients, he’s spending time with his own family. He and his wife, Katie, were married in May of 2018 after relocating to Charleston from Chicago, IL. They welcomed their first child, daughter Annie Rose, on February 6, 2020. Annie joins big “fur-brother”, Barkley, to which the firm, Black Dog Financial Planning, gets its name. Barkley is a rescue from PAWS Chicago, a no kill animal shelter. Barkley was 3 months old and 25 pounds when Mike and Katie adopted him. He’s now 3 years old and 80 pounds and his favorite pastime is watching squirrels from the window and chasing them out of the backyard. Mike and Katie enjoy low-country living, especially golf, the beach, and oyster roasts, but also love to travel. They got engaged in Paris in 2017 and have traveled around Europe and Asia together. Next up, they hope to visit South America, Australia and Africa. They look forward to raising their family in the low-country and traveling together whenever they can.
