Maureen started her career in corporate finance and institution banking. After taking some time off to raise two children, she re-entered into a career in financial planning to work with clients in a more intimate and personal level. I founded Skylark Wealth to strike the ideal balance for personal financial services combining the latest in technology with fiduciary-level personal service alongside a fee structure that properly aligns incentives toward mutual long-term success. Skylark’s open architecture allows me to serve clients wherever their assets may be held using the most suitable investments and to evolve the platform with the latest in technology without restriction or limitation. For 10 years prior I worked at a similarly structured Registered Investment Advisor that grew from $75mm to $1b in assets under management. Much like you don't wait to join a gym until you're healthy, you shouldn't wait to work with a financial planner until you're wealthy. Unfortunately, the financial industry historically only wants to work with clients who have <insert any seven-digit-minimum amount of assets>. The good news is there are now plenty of financial planners who will gladly work with clients regardless of how much they have already saved. I am one of those planners. ;) I've been a financial planner for over a decade now, and I've worked lots of different clients from all walks of life. I've come to learn that sticking to the basics and keeping things simple is the best approach when helping clients develop a financial plan. My role is to help guide you on your path to financial freedom. New clients start with a financial plan. This is where we talk about your goals, time horizon, and all the numbers. We’ll review different scenarios so you can see what’s possible. By the end of the initial plan, you should be up and running, moving in the general direction of your goals. In six months (or sooner, if you prefer), we’ll meet to review how things are going and make any needed adjustments. From there on, we’ll talk about any future meetings that may be beneficial.

Kevin Cheeks is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional specializing in equity compensation, tax-efficient financial planning, direct indexing and socially conscious investing. With close to two decades of experience in wealth management, Kevin has worked at several of the largest financial services firms such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Charles Schwab. While at Schwab, Kevin was responsible for advising stock plan participants at some of the largest tech companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, such as Apple, Facebook (Meta), Google (Alphabet), Twitter, Uber, and many others. In 2020 Kevin joined forces with several colleagues to help launch ECHO45, a boutique Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), where he served as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Planning Services, in addition to continuing to serve as a Financial Advisor to his own book of clients. 2020 proved to be not only an interesting time to launch a new firm, but also a historically important period in our country and around the world. After 2 years of helping to build and grow ECHO45, Kevin felt a calling to be doing something more. Having been brought up in a home with parents who served in the Peace Core, participated in the civil rights demonstrations in the 1960’s and were active in grassroots political campaigns, Kevin felt it was time to align his work with his ethos. “ImpactFI was born from the idea of creating a platform where investors can make a difference in the world around them while simultaneously accomplishing their own financial goals. Making money and making an impact don’t have to be mutually exclusive.” In April of 2022, ImpactFI opened its virtual doors for business. When he’s not helping clients accomplish their financial and altruistic goals, Kevin and his partner, Sejal, enjoy taking advantage of life in the Bay Area with their dog, Nullah. An avid traveler and board sport enthusiast, from snowboarding in Canada to surfing in Sri Lanka, Kevin has visited 24 countries so far and looks forward to growing that list even longer. He’s also a self-proclaimed points and miles nerd. In 2019, he had the great fortune of being able to go on a surf and yoga themed sabbatical, during which he flew around the world, visiting 7 countries along the way, flying entirely in business class and almost entirely on points and miles! I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ to help people find solutions for their financial needs but soon realized that traditional financial planning was designed for a male head of household with a certain amount of wealth. Since I am most passionate about equality for women and the LGBTQ community, I realized that I needed additional skills to make financial planning meet our specific needs. So, I became a certified coach which allows me and my clients to go deeper to explore and clarify their individual values and goals. Once we’ve figured out what their ideal life looks like and what is really important to them, we can create a financial plan designed for them. Anyone who knows me knows of my deep love of pastries. I started my career as a pastry chef, fully embracing my creativity, a love of science and math, and delight in creating delicious concoctions. I loved this career, until one day I had an epiphany: My love of numbers and baking science acumen could be used in better ways to help the world. Turns out I like baking more as a hobby than as a career. No more petit fours! I returned to college as a women studies major determined to help women realize their potential and gain equality. Upon self-reflection I realized that I had a lot of passion but lacked any real skills to make the change in the world that I sought to make. Around this time my grandfather died, and I started helping my grandmother with her finances. We sought out information and together we came up with a financial plan for her new life alone. Helping my grandmother become financially independent was exactly the type of impact I wanted to have on other women’s lives. My career path was born.
