I am a Columbia, MO fee-only financial advisor serving clients locally and across the country. My firm, Harrison Financial Planning, provides comprehensive financial planning and investment management. I use both my technical competency as a Certified Financial Planner™, as well as my training as a Certified Financial Therapist-I™ to help guide my clients through any financial decisions they must make. Background My fascination with finance began before I even stepped foot in kindergarten when I discovered the eighth wonder of the world– compound interest. In 5th grade when asked to draw what I wanted to be when I grew up, I didn’t draw the customary teacher, doctor, or singer, but rather a stockbroker. And in middle school, instead of reading the typical teenage magazines, my father purchased me subscriptions to Money Magazine and Kiplinger. Prior to beginning my financial planning career I worked as a mortgage lender while attending graduate school and spent seven years as a commercial lender. As a financial planner, I am able to combine my love of finances and passion for helping individuals into a fulfilling career. In my downtime, I spend time with my husband, Jonathan, Group Practice Manager at the local Veterans’ Hospital, my two young sons, William and Alexander, and our dog, Carson. Michael Flanagan is a Senior Resident Director with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, bringing nearly three decades of experience to his role. He has been active in the Columbia community since 1989. Outside of his professional commitments, Michael enjoys golfing, traveling, practicing yoga, and spending time with his family. Richard Blankenship is a Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He has been in the financial services industry since 1994 and re-joined Merrill Lynch in April 2016. In his role, Richard provides purpose-driven investment consulting and wealth management services from an independent and objective perspective. His expertise includes a wide range of client focus areas such as family wealth management strategies, retirement planning, philanthropic planning, institutional investment consulting, and portfolio management services. Richard holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri and an Executive MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. A native of Sikeston, Missouri, Richard lives with his wife Brenda and they have three daughters and multiple grandchildren. Matthew Volk is a Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He specializes in corporate executive services, family wealth management strategies, legacy planning, personal retirement planning, portfolio management services, small business strategies, and both individual and corporate investment strategy. Matthew works closely with clients to develop personalized financial strategies aimed at pursuing their long-term goals. Matthew earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Missouri System and holds the Professional Investment Advisor (PIA) designation. He is committed to community involvement, actively volunteering with the Central Missouri Food Bank and the Central Missouri Humane Society. In his personal time, Matthew enjoys playing tennis, following baseball—particularly the St. Louis Cardinals—traveling, and spending time with his family.
