William Moran

William Moran is a Senior Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He has spent his entire career at Merrill, focusing on providing an exceptional service experience to clients by employing a range of investment strategies and wealth-planning structures tailored to meet their financial needs. He serves as the Director of Merrill's nationwide LGBT Financial Services Team, which was the only such team on Wall Street at its inception and has since expanded to address the specialized needs of the diverse LGBT community.

Mr. Moran graduated with honors from Hiram College in Ohio prior to joining Merrill in 1986. He holds professional designations as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) and Personal Investment Advisor (PIA). Throughout his career, he has received several recognitions including an Alumni Achievement Award from Hiram College in 2016, Honorable Mention in the 2007 Merrill Leadership & Inclusion Diversity Award program, Bank of America’s Global Diversity and Inclusion award in 2014, and the Business Leadership Award from the Capital Area Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

Residing in Washington, DC for over 25 years, Mr. Moran has been actively involved with philanthropic and community organizations. He is a current honorary board member and former president of the Board of Directors for Food & Friends, a local nonprofit providing meals to individuals with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses. He is also the former chairman and current board member of the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington DC.
