Thomas Detoro is the Resident Director and Wealth Management Advisor in the Canfield, Ohio office, where he works as part of the Beato & DeToro Group. He focuses on delivering the Merrill experience through a Goals Based Wealth Management Process, providing personalized financial strategies to clients. His role emphasizes understanding client needs to develop comprehensive wealth management plans that address family wealth strategies, legacy planning, managing new wealth, and retirement income. Thomas has held leadership roles including five years as Associate Resident Director in Hermitage, Pennsylvania before consolidating with the Canfield office. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University and a Master's degree in Personal Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning. His professional designations include Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP), Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC), and Personal Investment Advisor (PIA). He is active in his community, serving on the Board of Directors for United Way of Mercer County and Whole Life Services, Inc. Thomas has deep ties to the region as a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley and currently lives in Boardman with his wife.

Alexander Shortreed currently serves as a Branch Leader at Fidelity Investments, a role he has held since 2023. In this capacity, he leads a team of financial professionals who work with clients to support their financial goals. Prior to this, he held positions at Fidelity Investments as a Planning Consultant from 2022 to 2023 and as a Financial Representative from 2021 to 2022. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Financial Planning Assistant at Ameriprise from 2017 to 2021. Throughout his career, Alexander has gained experience in financial planning and client relationship management. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys spending time with friends, participating in social events, and engaging in activities such as golf, hiking, movies, music, and snowboarding.
